Senior Strategy Manager sought by an in-house strategy team within this rapidly growing Software as a Service business, part of a FTSE 100. Within this business, building enterprise AI/automation tools, you will focus on managing the strategic use of M&A to accelerate growth and open up new markets.

 

Responsibilities:



  • Partnering with a particular business line to understand their strategic agenda, market opportunities & challenges and to lead strategy specific business strategy projects

  • Refreshing the 5-year strategic plan, working with key stakeholders across Global and regional teams

  • Managing the strategic use of M&A to accelerate growth and to open up new markets including: (i) refreshing our screening & search criteria (ii) assessing target areas and target companies, on a proactive & reactive basis and (iii) managing & co-ordinating internal engagement with Global & Regional teams and Corporate Development in support of our M&A agenda, and supporting deal execution and post-merger integration where appropriate

  • Performing research and analysis of our markets, client trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics – with a particular focus on the relevant market to the partner business line - developing a point of view on strategic implications and any strategic response or change to our strategy which may be required

  • Partnering & collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders including product line leaders, subject matter experts and corporate & regional strategy counterparts

  • Articulating strategy and strategic recommendations in a clear, compelling and concise fashion for Executive & Board level  audiences

 

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

 

  • 5 years+ business strategy experience focused on target markets and strategic business opportunities, including 2-3 years relevant experience within a strategy consulting firm

  • Familiarity with M&A strategy, evaluation techniques and deal lifecycle 

  • Experience in strategy formulation, managing & supporting strategy workstreams

  • Experience with strategy frameworks & structured methods

  • Clear thinker and excellent communicator

  • Able to organise information into clear materials

  • Global mindset, awareness of different markets and industries across all regions

  • Excellent relationship builder, natural collaborator, connector and networker 

  • Self-motivated, disciplined, structured, organised, and reliable

  • Multi-tasker, able to deliver high-quality work, at pace
