You'll define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user needs. You will collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, mobile developers and backend teams to transform business requirements into robust technical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Establishing and governing Architectural patterns such as MVVM for mobile, and microservices for backend using Scala, Akka, or Java stacks.
- Define API contracts, ensure secure data handling (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, encryption), guide performance tuning, and support observability including logging, tracing, and metrics.
- Design and validate Mobile integrations with services like Firebase, push notifications, authentication layers, and third-party SDKs.
- Lead technical reviews, mentoring, and governance activities to uphold best practices, code quality, and reusability. This includes coordinating POCs, evaluating emerging tools and frameworks, and influencing strategic decisions at the senior stakeholder level.
- Setting up development environments to app store deployments, the Architect needs to ensure a smooth and successful delivery pipeline.
- Act as the technical owner and point of escalation throughout the product lifecycle.
Core Mobile Development Skills:
- Swift 5, SwiftUI, UIKit – for native iOS development
- Kotlin, Java, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK – for native Android development
- MVVM, MVI, and clean architecture patterns
- Deep linking, WebView integration, biometric auth, secure storage (Keychain / Keystore)
- App performance profiling, crash reporting (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics, Instruments)
Backend Development Skills:
- Scala, Akka, Akka HTTP – for reactive, non-blocking backend services
- RESTful API design
- MongoDB – data persistence and caching
- CI/CD and DevOps Tools
- Bitrise, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Fastlane – for mobile build & deploy automation
- GitHub – code management, PR workflows
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks (XCUITest, Espresso, JUnit)
- Security & Compliance
- OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT-based token handling
- Secure storage, cert pinning, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest/in-transit
- Knowledge of OWASP Mobile Top 10 and backend security best practices
- GDPR, PII handling, and audit logging principles
