This role involves shaping and leading the technical design and architecture for systems that process high-volume transactional data, with the aim of identifying, preventing, or managing risk in real time. The programme is being delivered in a fast-paced Agile environment, so experience working within Agile teams is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical architecture for a complex, data-driven risk solution involving real-time or near-real-time transactional assessment.
- Define scalable, secure, and high-performing architectural patterns.
- Work in an Agile delivery team, ensuring technical solutions are aligned with iterative development cycles and user needs.
- Engage with business and technical stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and technical implementation.
- Work closely with data, security, and development teams to translate requirements into robust architecture.
- Create documentation, roadmaps, and architecture artefacts as required.
- Ensure designs align with best practices, industry standards, and relevant compliance obligations (e.g., GDPR, security).
Required Experience:
- Proven experience as a Technical Architect on transactional risking or fraud/risk detection systems.
- Prior involvement in Central Government projects or complex risk systems in financial services.
- Experience working in Agile teams and contributing to iterative delivery cycles.
- Strong understanding of data architectures, API integration, microservices, and event-driven systems.
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, agile environments and engage with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), CI/CD, and modern dev practices.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
