We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to support a large-scale risk and compliance transformation programme. You will bring deep expertise in transactional risking—either from previous work at UK Government or within the financial services sector.

This role involves shaping and leading the technical design and architecture for systems that process high-volume transactional data, with the aim of identifying, preventing, or managing risk in real time. The programme is being delivered in a fast-paced Agile environment, so experience working within Agile teams is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the technical architecture for a complex, data-driven risk solution involving real-time or near-real-time transactional assessment.
  • Define scalable, secure, and high-performing architectural patterns.
  • Work in an Agile delivery team, ensuring technical solutions are aligned with iterative development cycles and user needs.
  • Engage with business and technical stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and technical implementation.
  • Work closely with data, security, and development teams to translate requirements into robust architecture.
  • Create documentation, roadmaps, and architecture artefacts as required.
  • Ensure designs align with best practices, industry standards, and relevant compliance obligations (e.g., GDPR, security).

Required Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Technical Architect on transactional risking or fraud/risk detection systems.
  • Prior involvement in Central Government projects or complex risk systems in financial services.
  • Experience working in Agile teams and contributing to iterative delivery cycles.
  • Strong understanding of data architectures, API integration, microservices, and event-driven systems.
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, agile environments and engage with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), CI/CD, and modern dev practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
