You'll have strong experience in system integration testing, automated API testing, job scheduling, and ETL/ELT toolsets within secure government environments.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering and testing team, ensuring the reliability, performance, and integrity of batch workflows across distributed platforms such as SAS, Talend, Pentaho, and Denodo.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver batch testing across a wide range of data-processing and integration components.
- Create, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts for batch and API-based workflows.
- Perform system integration testing across multiple platforms and data pipelines.
- Validate job scheduling logic and ensure end-to-end stability of batch cycles.
- Conduct automated API testing and contribute to automation framework improvements.
- Work with developers, data engineers, and product teams to ensure full test coverage and technical quality.
- Troubleshoot, document, and resolve defects across multi-layered platforms.
- Produce clear test evidence, reporting, and documentation aligned to government standards.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, providing input into sprint planning and refinement.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Active SC Clearance (HMRC clearance preferred).
- Strong experience in batch processing, job scheduling, and system integration testing.
- Automated testing experience, particularly Automated API Testing.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Atlassian Jira (defect management & reporting)
- Talend (ETL/ELT workflows)
- Pentaho
- SAS, SAS Viya, SAS Web Report Studio
- Denodo (data virtualization)
- Understanding of engineering best practices across data, integration, and test pipelines.
- Experience testing within secure, complex government or enterprise environments.
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
