We are seeking an experienced SC Cleared Data Architect to support a high-profile Central Government initiative.
You will design and govern data architectures that underpin fraud prevention and risk assessment at scale, working in a secure, agile environment. You’ll act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring data solutions meet enterprise standards, regulatory requirements, and user needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Architecture & Design
• Design and maintain data models aligned to strategic data needs
• Define and maintain data technology architecture, including metadata, integration patterns, and analytics platforms
• Support the upgrade, management, decommissioning, and archiving of data in line with data policies
• Provide input into data dictionaries and architectural documentation
• Reverse-engineer data models from live systems where required
Governance & Assurance
• Take responsibility for data governance assurance, ensuring solutions meet policy, security, and compliance requirements
• Identify where data standards have been applied or breached and perform impact analysis
• Work with metadata repositories to support system integration and maintain accuracy
Analysis & Delivery
• Undertake data profiling and source system analysis
• Translate business problems into robust data architecture designs aligned to enterprise-wide standards
• Present clear insights and recommendations to support effective use of data
• Identify patterns, trends, and root causes, recommending preventative measures
Collaboration & Communication
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Support and facilitate discussions within multidisciplinary agile teams
• Advocate for the team externally and manage differing perspectives
• Contribute to strategic planning by articulating the broader context and value of the work
Skills & Experience Required:
• Proven experience as a Data Architect in complex, regulated environments
• Strong experience working within Agile delivery teams
• Solid understanding of data governance, risk management, and assurance
• Hands-on experience with SAS technologies, including:
– SAS Data Integration Studio
– SAS Enterprise Guide
– SAS Visual Investigator (VI)
– SAS Visual Analytics
– SAS Viya
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience working in SC-vetted environments
Desirable Experience:
• Previous central government experience
• Experience delivering data architecture within large-scale risk, compliance, or intelligence platforms
