We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support a major public sector programme. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining robust data solutions within a secure environment, working closely with Agile delivery teams.
This is a hands-on position suited to engineers with strong data integration, SQL, and data platform experience, ideally gained within central government or other large, regulated organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build and support data integration and data processing solutions
- Work with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using Talend and related technologies
- Write and optimise complex SQL and PL/SQL scripts
- Produce High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs) where required
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies and collaborative ways of working
- Ensure solutions align with security, governance and development standards
- Support testing, deployment and ongoing optimisation of data solutions
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience as a Data Engineer in enterprise environments
- Talend (ETL / data integration)
- Unix / Linux
- Oracle SQL
- Experience working with Jira & Confluence
- Proven experience working in Agile delivery teams
- SC clearance (active or eligible)
- Experience working on public sector programmes (highly desirable)
