You’ll be embedded within multidisciplinary Agile teams, leading interaction design across services and ensuring user-centred design principles are applied consistently to deliver high-quality, outcome-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead interaction design across complex end-to-end government services
- Own and evolve service interaction models, patterns and journeys
- Ensure all design outputs meet GDS Service Standard and accessibility requirements (WCAG 2.1 AA)
- Collaborate closely with service designers, content designers, user researchers, developers and architects
- Provide leadership, direction and quality assurance for interaction design within the team
- Contribute to design strategies that support long-term digital vision
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Lead Interaction Designer in UK central government
- Strong, demonstrable knowledge of GDS standards, Service Assessments and design governance
- Extensive experience working in Agile, multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to design complex transactional services at scale
- Confident stakeholder management within large, matrixed organisations
