You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering and testing team, ensuring the reliability, performance, and integrity of workflows across distributed platforms such as SAS, Talend, Pentaho, and Denodo.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts for batch and API-based workflows.
- Perform system integration testing across multiple platforms and data pipelines.
- Conduct automated API testing and contribute to automation framework improvements.
- Work with developers, data engineers, and product teams to ensure full test coverage and technical quality.
- Troubleshoot, document, and resolve defects across multi-layered platforms.
- Produce clear test evidence, reporting, and documentation aligned to government standards.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, providing input into sprint planning and refinement.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Automated testing experience, particularly Automated API and System Testing.
- ISTQB certified
- Hands-on experience with:
- Oracle RDS
- ETL/ELT workflows
- Either Pentaho, Denodo, Talend or SAS Viya
- Understanding of engineering best practices across data, integration, and test pipelines.
- Experience testing within secure, complex government or enterprise environments.
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous UK government project experience.
- Broader exposure to data engineering, analytics platforms, or distributed integrations.
- Ability to work effectively in agile, multi-supplier environments.
