This role requires someone comfortable operating at pace, collaborating across organisations, and shaping complex interaction design within a large central government environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and iterate user-centred interactions for complex digital services and internal platforms.
- Work closely with Product Managers, User Researchers, Content Designers, Developers, and Analysts in agile delivery teams.
- Produce high-quality interaction designs, user flows, prototypes, and design documentation.
- Ensure designs meet GDS Service Standards and WCAG accessibility requirements.
- Translate user needs and research findings into clear, usable interaction solutions.
- Contribute to design critiques and collaborate with wider design communities and suppliers.
- Support delivery through discovery, alpha, beta and live phases.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Senior Interaction Designer within UK central government.
- Strong knowledge of GDS Service Standards and user-centred design practices.
- Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrable experience designing accessible services to WCAG standards.
- Ability to clearly communicate and justify design decisions to stakeholders.
- Eligible for SC clearance or currently holding active SC clearance.
