Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver high-quality user research across discovery, alpha, beta and live phases.
- Select and apply the right mix of qualitative and quantitative methods (e.g., interviews, usability testing, surveys) to generate clear, actionable insight.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, service owners, delivery leads and engineers to embed user-centred thinking in day-to-day delivery.
- Synthesize findings into practical outputs (insights, personas, journey maps, recommendations) that influence prioritisation and design decisions.
- Present research outcomes confidently to senior stakeholders and support assessment/governance expectations aligned to the Service Standard.
- Champion inclusive research approaches and represent the needs of diverse users, including those with accessibility or assisted digital requirements.
Essential experience:
- Significant central government user research experience
- Strong working knowledge of GDS standards, service assessment expectations and government research practices
- Proven delivery in Agile, multidisciplinary teams, operating at pace and managing competing priorities.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and insight storytelling skills.
