You'll need a strong background in GDS-aligned design, end-to-end service mapping, and collaboration within multidisciplinary Agile teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design end-to-end services that deliver seamless and effective user experiences across multiple touchpoints.
- Work closely with Product Managers, User Researchers, Interaction Designers, and Developers to design and improve digital and non-digital services.
- Apply and champion Government Digital Service (GDS) standards throughout the design lifecycle.
- Lead workshops and co-design sessions with stakeholders and users to inform service improvements.
- Develop and communicate service blueprints, user journeys, and process maps to visualise current and future service states.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement, simplification, and automation.
- Ensure designs consider technical feasibility, operational needs, and user outcomes.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Service Designer in UK Central Government or large-scale digital transformation programmes.
- Strong understanding and practical application of GDS Service Design and Digital Service Standards.
- Experience designing in Agile, multidisciplinary teams within complex environments.
- Ability to translate research and insights into actionable design artefacts and service recommendations.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Confident working remotely and managing deliverables in a distributed team.
- Active SC clearance is essential (or ability to work on a project requiring it).
