This role is about designing and guiding real systems at scale—not experimenting. You’ll ensure solutions are secure, compliant, and well-governed as they are built and expanded.
What You’ll Do:
Solution Architecture
- Design and guide system integrations (e.g. ServiceNow) as new features are delivered
- Keep architecture documents up to date (design decisions, data flows, integrations)
- Define and maintain the long-term architecture roadmap
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with policy
AI & Automation (e.g. Copilot Studio)
- Assess and guide the use of AI tools
- Ensure AI is used safely, responsibly, and in line with policy
- Support controlled adoption—not experimental use
Data & Reporting
- Design logging and data storage for reporting (e.g. Power BI)
- Ensure proper handling of sensitive data and access controls
- Business Continuity
- Turn resilience and continuity requirements into technical designs
- Evaluate solution options and ensure they meet standards
- Support tool selection by identifying risks, trade-offs, and dependencies
- Ensure solutions align with resilience standards (e.g. ISO 22301)
- Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Design enterprise-wide IAM architecture (users, systems, privileged access)
- Cover cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Ensure secure authentication, authorisation, and access control
- Support areas like:
- Identity governance
- Privileged Access Management (PAM)
- Key and certificate management (aligned with NCSC guidance)
What You’ll Need:
- Active SC clearance
- Strong experience as a Solution Architect (SFIA Level 5/6)
- Background working in large, regulated environments (ideally government)
- Experience integrating systems into complex IT estates
- Ability to balance business, security, and technical needs
- Confidence identifying risks and providing clear technical direction
