You will operate across discovery, design, assurance, and delivery, working closely with product teams, engineers, enterprise architects, and governance bodies to shape robust, secure, and resilient solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce and maintain Solution Design Documents (SDDs) alongside supporting architectural artefacts and technical specifications
- Translate Discovery outputs into clear solution designs, architecture decisions, and technical requirements
- Provide solution architecture advisory support across complex programmes and delivery teams
- Ensure designs align with IT Strategy, solution design standards, and architectural principles
- Support and contribute to architecture governance processes, including SAB / ARB
- Lead solution assurance activities, including iterative design review
- Design and document integration, reconciliation, and resilient service solutions, with consideration for Disaster Recovery, Operational continuity and Non-functional requirements
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience working as a Solution Architect on large-scale digital programmes, ideally within central government or regulated environments
- Strong track record of producing high-quality SDDs, architecture artefacts, and supporting documentation
- Solid understanding of architecture governance and operating within formal approval processes (e.g. SAB / ARB)
- Experience designing integrated, resilient end-to-end solutions, including operational and recovery scenarios
- Comfortable working in Agile, multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to engage confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders
