Remote, Inside IR35 role with occasional travel to Newcastle (maybe once a month)
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, design and conduct user research in line with GDS standards
- Work within Agile, multidisciplinary teams alongside designers, developers, product managers and stakeholders
- Use qualitative and quantitative research methods to understand user needs, behaviours and pain points
- Translate research findings into clear insights to inform service design and product decisions
- Advocate for users and accessibility throughout the design and development lifecycle
- Support usability testing, discovery and continuous improvement activities
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a User Researcher within government or highly regulated environments
- Strong knowledge of GDS service standards and user-centred design principles
- Experience planning and conducting a range of research methods (interviews, usability testing, surveys, etc.)
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to synthesise and present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience researching complex, policy-driven or transactional services
