Behaviour Change Adoption Manager

Job Description

Behaviour Change Adoption Manager required for projects within a large Central Government department. Millions of people their services every day, and the users’ needs are at the heart of everything they do. They manage one of the most complex IT estates in Western Europe and deliver some of the most important services in the UK.

As the Change Adoption Manager in the team, you will work closely with Project Managers, Spaces Support team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver sustained behaviour change. Your role will specifically include:

  • Developing a change management strategy and framework for the team to use and follow

  • Undertaking change impact analysis to understand changes being made, why they are happening, who is affected and how

  • Articulating what the current and desired future state people behaviours are and identifying any potential capability, motivational or opportunity barriers that may need to be addressed

  • Defining, contributing to and delivering change adoption activities and tools needed to overcome potential and actual barriers to sustained behaviour change – this may be in the form of communication, training and other kinds of targeted intervention

  • Establishment of change evaluation criteria to help ensure desired people behaviours are realised and then sustained beyond launch

  • Upskilling of other team members in behaviour and business change adoption best practice


Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Previous experience of working for a government dept. 

  • Proven and sustained success in defining and delivering people-centred change strategies within a large and complex organisation

  • Experience of designing, delivering and evaluating behavioural change initiatives across a broad range of audiences

  • Excellent planning and organising with the ability to keep track of deliverables

  • Strong data analysis and research skills

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence all levels and act as a trusted advisor on change best practices and recommend solutions

  • Experience in taking a creative and innovative approach to drive successful solutions

  • Ability to work, at times in a changing environment with some ambiguity, while self-managing and sometimes to tight timeframes and under pressure
