Lead Technical Writer

Job Description

We're hiring a Lead Technical Writer to create and iterate technical security content drafted by the Digital Transformation team. You will support the development of Secure by Design content to help improve the sharing of security knowledge and expertise across government. The content will help the government continually improve its cyber security capability and help teams meet common standards.

You will work closely with experienced cyber security practitioners interviewing people and carrying out research to develop guidance and blog posts. You will be working across multiple cross-government teams, while writing on a range of different subjects, from the highly technical to the more general.

  • ability to understand complex, technical concepts and translate them into simple, accessible content

  • strong interpersonal skills, specifically in relation to extracting knowledge from technical and process experts

  • ability to establish publishing processes and editorial standards

  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver to deadlines, coordinating work across distributed teams

  • ability to identify and deliver the most appropriate type of content (e.g. written, visual, video) for a particular user need

  • experience writing web content including blog posts

  • a positive and proactive approach to service delivery and getting things done
