Platform Engineers

Job Description

We are a seeking SC Cleared Platform Engineers to work on several projects, providing transformative solutions to central government departments. The successful candidates will have a strong background in either AWS or Azure, agile methodologies, and experience working within the central government sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and resilient cloud-based infrastructure solutions using either AWS or Azure services.

  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment process and ensure continuous integration and delivery.

  • Collaborate closely with development teams, architects, and stakeholders to design and implement secure and efficient cloud-based solutions.

  • Monitor and optimize the performance, availability, and reliability of cloud infrastructure and applications.

  • Implement and uphold Agile methodologies and best practices to ensure efficient project delivery and collaboration within the team.

  • Provide technical expertise and support to central government clients, advising on best practices, security requirements, and cloud architecture solutions.

  • Manage and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.

  • Implement and maintain security best practices, ensuring compliance with government and industry regulations.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, implementing effective solutions and improvements.

  • Stay updated with the latest AWS or Azure services, features, and best practices to ensure the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.


Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in either AWS or Azure cloud services and solutions.

  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and practices.

  • Previous experience working within the central government sector.

  • Active SC clearance is mandatory for this role.

  • Strong knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC, or Azure services such as VMs, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Functions.

  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.

  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools and practices, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or AWS CodePipeline.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • AWS or Azure certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are desirable.
