Solution Architect

Job Description

Experienced Solution Architect required for a UK Government agency. 

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the overall end to end design for one of Business Change Programmes

  • Application component level design

  • Integration of components

  • Assure that any 3rd party supplier proposals are fit for purpose

  • Propose, through past experience, how to deliver new technologies to deliver Application component gaps

  • Engage with stakeholders (at all levels, including Director level) to better understand business objectives and technology challenges – to help ensure requirements are met in the design

  • Recommending technology opportunities and innovations

  • Apply strong communication and influencing skills to both technical and business stakeholders

  • Build strong links for collaboration across other government departments to share best practice and insights

  • Apply strong governance throughout the delivery, championing reuse, alignment to industry best practise, and Architecture standards and principles.

  • Recognition of common requirements, across programmes, to standardise and deliver common services wherever possible


Key Experience and Skills:

  • An experienced Solution Architect who has a track record of designing and delivering end to end IT Solutions for UK Government

  • Depth and Breadth of experience in the Business/Application services aspects. For example: Digital online services, Application components such as Case Management, Document Management, Payment Management, Identity Management and Notification Management

  • Designing in compliance with Security Standards

  • Architecting/Designing Microsoft Cloud technologies, including the Power Platform, and Azure services

  • Integration approaches, best practise, and technologies

  • Data driven design principles

  • Designing digital solutions that are compliant with UK Government Technology Code of Practice
