Network Architect needed for large Government department. The current DNS solution that underpins the department network is a Platinum rated capability that is essential to the private network and enables vast connectivity and capability across the sector.
We are looking for an experienced Network Architect Lead with experience in delivering multi-vendor Network infrastructure and in-depth knowledge of network principles, technology and architecture.
Your role:
Input/guidance to the technical and security design requirements, review of existing technical and security requirements
Document the technical solution design options (High level and low level)
Technical Assessment of design options (Assessment Matrix)
Guidance on industry best practice for DNS solutions
Guidance on existing DNS provider solutions
Update to technical/security requirements
Direct engagement with suppliers/internal parties to agreed high-level design
Support with supplier technical queries for pre-procurement phase
Evaluation/scoring of supplier solutions
Development of detailed low-level designs for all aspect of the solution based on appointed supplier(s)
SPOF/CFIA Analysis
Development of Full Business Case
Your skills:
Experience in delivering multi-vendor Network infrastructure and in-depth knowledge of network principles, technology and architecture in particular with AnyCast/ECMP balancing for simple UDP request/response services such as DNS.
Experience of architecting large-scale solutions on cloud and/or private hosting arrangements
Excellent written and communication skills
Evidence of identifying and documenting functional and non-functional requirements for a project
